While working at USF Health, I interacted a lot with the academic template and had to design around its overuse of gradients and shadows. I started to skew my palette toward a flatter design and a lot of what I was doing looked off on this template, so I decided I would make an effort to change it. The current master template looks incredibly dated and for good reason, it hasn’t changed in a few years. In an effort to update the styling and improve the portrayal of the USF Health brand, I eliminated all of the gradients and flattened out the entire interface. I made the logo bigger, increased the white-space all over the place and brought in tasteful variations of the USF colors.
